Rosazza

Having joined the association of "Italy's most beautiful villages" a few years ago, Rosazza owes its appearance to its most illustrious citizen, Federico Rosazza Pistolet, who in the second half of the 19th century financed the construction of villas, palaces, gardens and public works such as bridges and roads. The eclectic style is well represented by the parish church, which houses interesting works of art, the cemetery, the town hall and the neo-Gothic castle. But Rosazza does not owe its architectural appearance solely to its namesake. In fact, as well as being a senator of the kingdom, he was also a grand master of Freemasonry and a passionate connoisseur of esotericism. The village is full of cryptic references left by Rosazza, which have earned the small municipality in the Biella area the reputation of being “the most mysterious municipality in Italy”.
